7 Tips for Caring for Baby’s Skin
Every baby is different — and wonderfully so! One of those differences? Their skin care needs, which can vary based on their skin type, age and surroundings. These tips will help you bring out the best of your baby’s beautiful skin and keep it healthy as your little one grows.

• Protect baby’s skin from the sun: Before you head out, remember to take a few precautions to keep your baby’s extra-delicate skin safe from harmful exposure. Choose outfits that keep your baby covered up and add socks and a wide-brimmed hat, too. Apply a baby-friendly sunscreen to any exposed skin, and make sure the sun shade on your baby’s stroller provides UV protection.

• Know how to keep baby hydrated: What’s good for mom is also good for baby: Proper hydration is crucial for healthy skin. Until they start solids, babies get all the liquids they need from breast milk or formula. But if it’s really hot outside or really dry inside, your LO may not be getting enough from your normal feeding schedule. If your baby seems listless, is going through fewer diapers and their skin seems slack, make sure you’re maintaining a consistent feeding schedule, and consider adding in an extra feeding in the middle of the day, when the weather is hottest. Never give a baby under 6 months old water or juice without first talking to your pediatrician.
